Since a young girl, Kat Spina has been inspired by music with an inner drive to pursue the voice. Her formative years influenced her style, direction, and affection for different genres of music. Most recently, her journey has been to follow her creative intuition as a songwriter and performing artist.

After graduating from SUNY New Paltz with a degree in Music Therapy, Kat has set out to actively pursue the depths of what it takes to be an independent musician. From demo recordings to full length albums, cafe performances and house concerts to NYC songwriter venues, she has propelled herself into a world of discovery. The ever-evolving access to technology has made it more exciting than ever to self-release and promote your music. In 2011, Kat ran a successful “crowd funding” campaign through “RocketHub.com.” This enabled her to engage her fans and faithful followers to become involved in her upcoming EP project release. The past two years, Kat has surrounded herself with some of the finest songwriters, musicians, producers and industry professionals to bring her music and story to a new level.

“Chasing Shadows: The New EP” is set to release in 2013. It was recorded at The Gallery Recording Studio in Brooklyn, NY. In October 2012, she teamed up with Steven Bennett of The jusB Movement to record her first music video.

This new chapter has been a huge learning experience and only proves there is much more in store for Kat Spina fans!
