The Hometown Heroes Foundation (located in Lynchburg, VA) is a mentorship program for children who have lost a family member(s) to a disease/illness or tragic event. The program is designed to provide the children with a road map to a heroic future and enable the children to achieve their dreams. Our volunteers are our everyday local heroes: firefighters, EMS, policemen, teachers, doctors, postal service workers and community leaders. Hometown Heroes recognizes the need for stability and a positive focus for any child who has experienced a tragic loss. Our volunteers serve as supportive mentors, role models, and parental figures to each individual. The program will provide children with the opportunity to accomplish goals, carry out their dream and in turn become heroes to the community.
